2011
Teaching Begins
Kassiyet begins teaching Bharatanatyam at Ganesa Natyalaya in New Delhi while continuing her advanced training under Dr. Saroja Vaidyanathan.
Her earliest teaching experiences establish an approach rooted in rigorous technique, musical understanding, repertoire and sustained study.
2012–2016
Learning While Teaching
Teaching continues alongside an intensive period of training and performance in India.
These years deepen the relationship between practice and pedagogy: learning, performing and teaching become interconnected parts of Kassiyet’s artistic development.
2017–2020
An International Practice
Kassiyet begins teaching independently while her work expands internationally.
Classes, workshops and masterclasses take place across different cities and countries, bringing Bharatanatyam training to dancers from varied cultural and artistic backgrounds.
The work begins to extend beyond regular classes into a broader model of artistic learning.
2020–2025
Building in the United States
With a professional base in the United States, the teaching practice develops further through regular training, workshops, intensives, performances and community programs.
Over these years, what began as an individual teaching practice gradually takes on the structure of an organization.
2026
A New Chapter: Kassiyet Arts
In 2026, the organization enters a new chapter as Kassiyet Arts.
Based in New York City, Kassiyet Arts brings together three areas that had evolved over many years:
Performance.
Training.
Artistic Development.
The transition reflects a larger vision: to build an institution with an identity, artistic direction and future beyond the practice of a single teacher.
Looking Forward
Kassiyet Arts continues to grow carefully and intentionally.
The next chapter is focused on developing its performing company, strengthening the Academy, expanding opportunities for serious artistic study and creating an environment in which dancers can develop over time.
The aim is to build something lasting.
